WA: Man in court on wheel well murder charge
A 26-year-old man has appeared briefly in a Kalgoorlie court charged with the wilfulmurder of a woman whose body was found pushed into the wheel well of an abandoned car.
DYLAN ROBERT GREEN, of no fixed address, faced a charge of wilfully murdering CARROLJEAN SMITH, aged 45.
The badly decomposed body of Ms SMITH, who sometimes used the surname COYNE, was foundcovered by chipboard in the wheel well of a 1982 Ford station wagon by West Australianpolice on Sunday.
They'd been alerted to the car by a tow truck driver called to recover the vehiclefrom a country road near the south-west town of Collie.
GREEN, who police believe hitchhiked into Collie after dumping the station wagon, wasarrested late yesterday in Kalgoorlie after an intensive police search.
He was not required to plead and was remanded in custody to appear in the Perth Magistrate'sCourt on April 30.
