Vic: Health and safety campaign launched in Melb
A $3 million campaign to improve workplace health and safety has been launched in Victoria.
WorkCover Minister ROB HULLS says an interactive CD-rom is being mailed to the state's200,000 small and medium-sized workplaces as part of the WorkSafe Victoria initiative.
Mr HULLS says small employers often operate in a complex environment and occupationalhealth and safety gets put to the bottom of regulatory and operational things to do.
He says this campaign will give employers the tools to act now.
In 2001-2002, 76 per cent of all reported workplace fatalities occurred at small tomedium-sized employers.
Mr HULL says small to medium-sized businesses were also fined almost $2.6 million inWorkSafe prosecutions.
