Vic: Man arrested following alleged hold-up attempt in Melbourne
A petrol station cashier has been threatened at knife point by a balaclava-clad manduring an alleged hold-up attempt in Mellbourne this morning.
Police say they saw the man put on a balaclava and enter the Quix-Mobil service stationin Canterbury Road, in suburban Bayswater just after midnight (AEST).
Officers approached the store and allegedly saw a man walking the cashier to the counterarea at knife point.
Police say he threw down the weapon when challenged by officers.
The cashier was not injured.
A 37-year-old Croydon man was arrested but has not yet been charged.
